Responding to feedback

It all started at 7:30 in the morning. “Alex, time to go camping”.  I heard Dad say.
”This is going to be the most perfect camping trip ever.” I thought to myself as I got dressed.

I rushed out to get ready to go camping. I grabbed the fishing rods  so we could go fishing. I had to find everything. No camping trip is complete without some fishing. We drove to our camping spot in Motueka.

As soon as we arrived we had to set up the camp before we went fishing. I saw a little fish, big fish with a great big fish below. The river was like a big swarm of fish. l caught 6 or 7 kingfish, Dad almost caught a stingray and Kimberly caught 3 kingfish. I was thinking I would eat the ones I caught. When the fishing was over we went to the hotel.

The hotel smelt like strawberries and vanilla. Someone was getting married and the  rooms were so beautifully decorated because it was a celebration. We listened to the songs and then had a big sleep to get rested for our trip home. Early in the morning we went back home. That night we had a movie night.

Arranging Cubes

The Perfect Day

I am learning to make my writing more interesting for the reader. I know I will be able to do this when I add more detail, interesting words and include what I see, hear, smell and feel.

I have chosen my taonga because it reminds me of my Dad and Grandad because they are gold miners.

I have been able to make connections to Dad and Grandad because we are both connected to Taylorville.
